Japanese Yuzu Tonic from GOLDBERG has won the German Design Award 2020. This special tonic water beat the competition in the category “Excellent Communications Design – Packaging”.
The German Design Award’s panel of experts was impressed by the look of GOLDBERG Japanese Yuzu Tonic and declared it the German Design Award Winner 2020. This international premium prize is awarded annually by the Rat für Formgebung (Design Council), Germany’s leading brand and design authority. Considered to be one of the most prestigious design competitions in the world, its aim is to discover, present and honor unique design trends. The members of the German Design Award panel are design experts from the fields of business, education, science and the design industry. This was the panel’s verdict on the optics of GOLDBERG Japanese Yuzu: “The design is a combination of the familiar red “rising sun” symbol on the Japanese national flag and Western elements, and the result is an unmistakable trademark brand. The name of the drink is printed under the brand name like a signature, where it contrasts sharply with the upper case lettering and highlights its special, exclusive status in the range.”
“Individual products from our GOLDBERG range have already been honored with the Red Dot Award and the German Design Award. We are now delighted that another of our premium fillers, GOLDBERG Japanese Yuzu Tonic, has landed the coveted German Design Award”, says Cord Hendryck Vinke, Marketing Director of MBG Group.
GOLDBERG Japanese Yuzu Tonic was developed together with Jimmy Barrat, World Class Finalist and Head Barman at Zuma in Dubai. In addition to the familiar quinine taste, this tonic water also contains Japanese yuzu fruit, which originated more than 1,200 years ago and gives the drink a hint of citrus and matcha flavors and a long finish with a floral cherry blossom aroma.
