Energy drink effect® has been awarded the prestigious German Design Award for its special “German Supporters” edition.
The German Design Award is the premium international prize awarded by the German Design Council. It aims to honour and showcase unique design trends. Every year, prizes are awarded to top-class submissions from the field of product and communication design, all of which represent leading innovations in the international design scene.
effect® resplendent in black, red and gold
In time for the FIFA World Cup 2014, MBG surprised fans of the effect® energy drink with a new, original design concept. The red dots of the logo’s otherwise contemporary and purist design were transformed into Germany’s national colours of black, red and gold to mark the special occasion. This simple and yet striking effect used for the “German Supporter’s Edition” was enough to win over the 2015 Red Dot award jury and the design was awarded the coveted prize. Now, the panel of international experts from the German Design Council have selected this product design to receive the “German Design Award 2016”. Once again, effect® has demonstrated the strength of its position as a premium product and is set to offer its full support at next year’s major sporting event, the UEFA European Championship 2016. With two awards to its name, it’s clear that the German Supporters Edition design will be repeated for Euro 2016.
